Lord please help me to learn and sense
Your still small gentle voice
Help me to slow down and tune my ear
And listen through the noise
When my heart is trembling
Tossed by the waves and the storm
Help me to hear your voice that
Commands ‘Peace’ and makes things calm
When the crowds are thronging
And I’m busy doing my best
Let me listen to that voice
That calls ‘Come apart and rest’
When I’m dead in trespasses
I cannot talk about
Revive me Lord, as you roar
‘Lazarus, come out ‘
And when I suffer wrongly
However righteous I may live
Help me echo that love-soaked cry
“Father, please forgive”
And when this life is over
And I step into Eternity,
My great reward is to hear your voice
Say “Well done faithful servant” to me.
