It wasn’t a mighty giant
That made King David fall,
It was just a little housewife
Bathing outside his wall.
It wasn’t an army of warriors
That brought Samson down,
Delilah’s tears were slippery; they
Reduced a leader to a clown.
Apostle Peter boasted of devotion
Beyond the shadow of a doubt,
One servant girl by the fire,
Took all his fire out!
Eve took just one bite of the Apple,
Lot’s wife took just one look,
Satan’s baits are tiny,
But they hide his deadly hook.
Little foxes of gossip or anger
Can destroy a vine in a day.
Few dead flies in a perfume jar
And we must throw it all away.
So pay attention to the “small stuff”,
Be vigilant in this fight,
The roaring lion that seeks to devour
Comes singing as an angel of light.
